The United States is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention and any official document destined for a country who is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention will receive an Apostille from the State of Federal Government. United States joined the Hague Apostille Convention on October 15, 1981. (Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents).
