The most common countries we process diplomas and transcripts are for Italy, Spain, South Korea, Qatar, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Venezuela, China, Vietnam and more!  Countries who are members of the Hague Apostille Convention only require the State apostille.  Please note that the apostille is issued from the Secretary of State’s office.  For countries who are not members, your documents will require State certification, US Department of State certification, and Embassy or Consulate legalization.

If you are continuing your education in another country or if you have been offered a job, you will be required to certify and legalize your diploma and transcripts so they can be accepted in the country requesting your documents.

A diploma notarized by the institutions Registrar must first be certified from the Secretary of State’s office before it can be mailed in to our Washington, D.C. office for processing.  Please beware of apostille service companies who will re-notarize and apostille your diploma and transcripts from a State other than the institution is located in.  Example: A New York certification on a University of California diploma.

For countries who are not members of the Hague Apostille Convention, your documents will require multiple steps to complete.  These steps are State certification, US Department of State certification, an Embassy or Consulate legalization. Note: Some countries may only require your diploma and transcripts to be processed through the State and Embassy or Consulate office.  Please, call us for instructions, cost, processing time, and order forms.

The very first step is to contact the institutions Registrar.  The Registrar will need to meet with a notary and have your documents notarized.  If the institution does not have a notary on staff, you can hire a traveling notary to meet with the Registrar.  From our experience, the registrar will do one of the following:

1. Notarize the original diploma and transcripts. (Best choice and requirement for Qatar).
2. Notarize a color copy of the original diploma and the original transcripts.
3. Sign and notarize a letterhead and attach it to the original diploma or a color copy of the original diploma.

Every institution has policies regarding how diplomas and transcripts are notarized.  Some will ask for you to mail in your original documents while another will have to order a new diploma.
