State Department Apostille & Authentications

The US Department of State – Office of Authentications issues both Certificates and Apostilles.  A Certificate is issued for countries who are non-members of the Hague Apostille Convention.  Member countries will receive an Apostille.  There are over 100 countries who are part of the Hague Apostille Convention and a couple are added every year.

** Example of a US Department of State Apostille & Certificate **

The process of obtaining an Apostille is simple.  You’ll first need to make sure your documents are either an original, certified original, and/or an original notarized document.  Please note: State issued documents will first need to be authenticated by the State of origin prior to being authenticated by the US Department of State.  For example, if your birth certificate was issued from the State of Nevada, you’ll first need to have your birth certificate Apostilled from the Nevada Secretary of State.  Once complete, the document can now be authenticated by the US Department of State.  We provide Apostille service for all 50 US States.

Documents issued by the Federal Government can only be processed by the US Department of State – Office of Authentications.  For example: FBI Background Check Apostille, Certificate of Foreign Government, Certificate of Naturalization Apostille, Food and Drug (FDA) Administration Documents, and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Apostille.
