Apostille US Passport

A US Passport is a Federal Government document issued by the US Department of State.  If you are requesting to have an Apostille attached to a color copy of your US Passport, you will need to follow the steps outlined below.  If you are outside the United States, please visit the local US Embassy to meet with a notary there who will copy certify a color copy of your passport or you can mail your original passport to our office in Washington, DC for fast same-day processing.

Step 1: If you are inside the United States, you can either mail your original US Passport to our office or you can meet with a local notary near you.  If you choose to meet with a notary near you, be sure you are working with a professional notary and that the notary follows the notarial laws in their State.  The notary’s responsibility is to copy certify the color copy of your passport.  Depending on your State, the processing time can be from 1-10 business days.  For faster same-day service, mail your original passport to our office in DC.

Step 2: Once the document has been copy certified, you can mail the document to our office in Washington DC.  Be sure to download our Washington DC Apostille Order Form and include it with your documents. If you plan to pay with a credit card, be sure to also download that document.

Our office in Washington, DC has authenticated hundreds of US Passports for international use.  We have a commissioned notary from the District of Columbia on staff to help expedite the process of authenticating your Passport.  For faster same-day service, mail your original passport to our office.  Once complete, your document will be returned by UPS air with a signature required.
