Do you need to apostille your Social Security Letter?

The Social Security Benefits and Income Statement is a U.S. Federal Government document issued by the Social Security Administration.  You will be asked to apostille this letter in order to obtain a long term retirement Visa in a foreign country.

In order to obtain this letter, Contact the local Social Security Administration office and mention that you need the Social Security Income and Benefits Statement letter signed by the Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration. The letter will bear a facsimile of the signature of the Acting Commissioner which is sufficient for processing. Please note, that if your letter is NOT signed by the Acting Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, it CANNOT be apostilled.
